Healthcare · Growth
1the challenge
Challenge: A major pension fund sought answers about the lack of performance of a $400 million revenue healthcare asset in the U.S. The asset operated 30 skilled nursing facilities in nine states.
2the approach
Approach: We assessed the current state and future potential of the asset which revealed that each facility really ran as a stand-alone business with few, if any, strategic or operating synergies, and no consistent drivers of revenue or profit. We also built a model ranking the market potential of all 50 states, integrating a wide range of macro-economic and industry-related factors. A clear picture was developed showing the barriers to revenue and profit growth.
3the result
Result: A turnaround strategy was framed and presented. The pension fund CEO stated that the work produced the first clear answers he sought, enabling him to make decisions about the business with confidence.
