MUTUAL Fund RESTRUCTURING
Fathom was engaged by the CEO of a multi-billion-dollar fund to help him understand why it was trading at such a high discount to net asset value. We planned and managed qualitative and quantitative research to get at the issues and recommended restructuring the fund to better align it with the long-term needs of investors. In the less than a year the discount to net asset value was cut in half.
During the process we also had to defend against a hostile institutional investor. In less than three months the fund was restructured and the changes overwhelmingly approved by investors. The hostile institutional investor was neutralized in the process.
