Oil & gas investor strategy

A sharp decline in the market capitalization of this company led the board to engage Fathom. The share price had fallen to less than 60 percent of the net asset value of the business. This presented a range of risks including hostile take-over attempts, a proxy fight to replace the board or even a forced liquidation.

Fathom advised the client on strategies to manage these risks, and to prepare related communications to institutional and other investors, as well as employees.

The resulting strategies and communications gave the company time and space to stabilize the share price, while it sought and successfully negotiated a purchase of the company on favourable terms for all stakeholders.
